At Regal Air, we try to keep our rental and instruction rates as low as possible. One way to accomplish this is to make efficient use of the aircraft and instructor scheduling. When you cancel a flight and the aircraft sits on the ground, everyone loses! In addition, it is not fair to other pilots wishing to fly and/or utilize instructor services. Therefore, the following is our policy for reservation cancellations, no-shows, late arrivals and late returns:
Cancel: A reservation cancellation is considered late when less than 24 hours notice is given. Late cancellations will result in a minimum charge of one (1) hour aircraft time (or the daily minimums) and instructor time, if applicable. The office staff will attempt to fill your reservation with another customer; if this happens, some adjustment to the charging policy may be considered.
No Show: You are considered a “no show” 15 minutes after your reservation start time. No shows will result in a minimum charge of one (1) hour aircraft time (or the daily minimums) and instructor time, if applicable.
Late Arrival: You are considered late if you have not arrived 15 minutes after your reservation start time. After this 15-minute period, your reservation may be cancelled and the aircraft dispatched to another customer wishing to rent the aircraft. If you anticipate a late arrival, you are encouraged to notify the office as soon as possible for schedule adjustment. Late arrivals may be assessed an aircraft and instructor charge (if applicable) equal to the amount of time elapsed since the reservation start time up to a maximum of one hour or the daily minimums, if applicable.
Late Return: An aircraft return is late if the aircraft dispatch book is not returned to the office for check in by the reservation end time. Because late returns often inconvenience the next customer scheduled for the aircraft, an aircraft charge equaling the amount of clock time that has elapsed may be charged to you and credited to the next customer’s account to offset this inconvenience. You may be charged for instructor time as well, if applicable. Please plan your flight accordingly to return on time. Please notify the office by telephone or uni-com (frequency 123.3) as soon as a late return is anticipated.
Weather Conditions that require you to reasonably cancel a reservation or return an aircraft late will be reviewed on an individual basis. Dual flights will be at the discretion of the instructor. If scheduled for a dual flight you are expected to arrive at the designated time unless otherwise notified. Please call when weather limitations are an issue.
